Summertime is finally here! Are your summer vacation plans already scheduled? Or are you just in the middle of planning what to do this season with your family and friends? Whatever the case is, just make sure to enjoy it and make the most of your summer!

But in case you are still thinking of what to do, why not enjoy a day or two road-tripping around Arizona. With its warm weather and splendid landscapes, both locals and tourists can have spectacular summer road trips around the state.

July is Arizona’s warmest month. But starting from June up until August, the average day time temperature in the state typically rises from around 102.0°F to 104.2°F. However, despite being one of the hottest states in America, Arizona is still a go-to destination during the summer.

To help you plan for your next road trip, we listed below three of Arizona’s must-visit attractions:

The Grand Canyon
What Arizona road trip list will be complete without this world-famous tourist destination. After all, Arizona is dubbed as the “Grand Canyon State.”

One of the seven natural wonders of the world, the Grand Canyon offers a plethora of activities all guests can enjoy. From hiking to going on a rafting trip, there are countless outdoor experiences you can try here. You can also explore Bright Angel and South Kaibab trails while riding on a mule. If you are not afraid of heights, you must not end your Grand Canyon trip without dropping by its horseshoe-shaped glass skywalk.

And with longer days during summer, you have plenty of time trying different activities and sightseeing different sceneries. Did you know that during summer months, there are around 13 to nearly 15 hours of daylight in the Grand Canyon area? Who knows how many activities you can experience with that extended daylight hours.

Kartchner Caverns
Arizona is home to few yet picturesque caverns that must be included in your road trip itinerary. One of these is the Kartchner Caverns, located south of Benson.

Discovered in 1974, this attraction offers exciting cave tours led by trained state park rangers. One of these is the “Rotunda/Throne Tour.” This 90-minute adventure allows you to have a glimpse of various delicate formations, including Kubla Khan — the largest column formation in the entire state. You can also see in this tour one of the world’s longest soda straw stalactites, which is 21 feet 3 inches long.

If you’re planning to go road tripping on a Saturday, you can reserve slots for Kartchner Caverns’ Helmet & Headlamp Tour. For approximately 75 minutes, guests and their entourage can have a chance to experience the caverns similarly how their discoverers did back in 1974 — while equipped with helmets with a headlamp.

Take note that you can’t bring bags, phones, backpacks, purses, and other items inside the cave while you’re on tour. You can just leave them in your car or you can store them in the park’s lockers. Guests are also prohibited from taking photos and recording videos inside the caverns. So just enjoy the experience and make the most of your visit!

Towering Saguaros in Tucson
If you’re planning a road trip in Arizona, make sure to drop by the beautiful city of Tucson. Known for its luxurious resorts and golf courses, this city houses other attractions that you should visit. Make sure to include the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum, Pima Air & Space Museum, and Old Tucson Studios in your list.

But the highlight of your visit in Tucson is the city’s towering saguaros. Did you know that you can find here the largest cacti in the entire United States? Considered as the universal symbol of the Southwest, hundreds of these tree-like cactus can be found within the area. Some of them even reach up to 45 feet high!

Even if you are just driving at the highway, you can still find some of these towering saguaros lined up. So get your cameras ready and take pictures of you beside these gigantic plants that you can only find in Tucson!

Explore the Beauty of Arizona
With its amazing natural attractions, Arizona is a perfect place to explore this summer season. So if you’re in the midst of planning your next adventure, make sure to include these 3 amazing road trip destinations in your list. I’m sure that you can enjoy them with your family and friends!

But since you are exploring Arizona with your own car, why not try visiting other road trip spots within the state. Arizona has a lot of other natural beauties to offer, as well as dozens of other breathtaking tourist destinations.

What are you waiting for? Start preparing for your next road trip and have fun exploring the beauty of Arizona!
